My first hand-made Mother's Day present

I didn't take any pictures this Mother's Day and actually didn't do much in celebrating it either. Mostly because my mom was going to come down and visit us but got sick and stayed home instead. I didn't plan anything since I usually do for MY mom. We didn't do anything for Hy's mom either, so it was very laid-back. We went to our new ward for the first time and they gave flowers to all the sisters. We came home and had home-made hamburgers (my choosing) and hung out as a family. I made brownies later and we ate some a'la mode. Yum! I didn't expect any presents but I Do have to say- Livvy had made me a present at school and they wrapped them in a pink paper and the teacher wrote "Don't open till Sunday." We had brought them home on Thursday and I had forgotten about it until Sunday morning and was thinking about the day actually being Mother's Day and that included me. I went, in my pj's, to the car, found the little pink-wrapped item and went inside with it. Livvy wanted it so that she could give it to me and she said "Happy Mother's Day Mommy". I wonder if I'll always remember that moment. It was my first hand-made Mother's Day present from my little girl. It was a decorated pink paper frame with a picture of her inside. She had glued colored feathers around it and drawn a picture for me on the back. She was so proud of her creation and I was too. More than that, I can't imagine sometimes how much they love me- despite how raunchy I can be. I really can be such a crab and they think I'm wonderful anyway. I love my little sweethearts. God was fully serious when he told us all that we should be like little children.

emporer's new clothes

with potty-training still moving along & Ella slowly progressing toward full independence, she often doesn't "quite make it" & wets her undies. So, she kicks everything off but forgets to put new ones on or refuses when I tell her that she needs to. I tell her that she's naked & needs clothes. Since yesterday shes been telling me she does have clothes on. Really?  You could have fooled me.
